Sunday Gossips ♥ #4

♥ Happy Sunday! I feel like all of my Sunday posts involve me whining about finding a graduate job...but it seems to be the thing I spend most of my time doing! I had an interview last week that got cancelled...20 minutes before! I was literally walking up the street with a take out coffee when I got the call to say it would be rearranged. How annoying. The most annoying thing was that I paid a lot of money to get the train to attend the interview, and it didn't even happen. Very unhappy.

♥ I went to Liverpool last week to see the famous Titanic puppets, but was a little disappointed. I think it looked amazing, but the crowds were massive which made it hard to see anything. I decided I'd go to Primark instead because I knew that most of the crowds were outside. Primark is lovely when it's quiet...it's like every girl's dream. Cheap clothing and nobody in the shop but you!

♥ I can't wait for Desperate Housewives tonight...does anybody else still watch it? I was absolutely devastated last week when Mike was shot. I just felt it completely ruined the final series...the filming was about to end and I thought it deserved a happy ever after! Gutted.

Hope you've all had a lovely week!Have you done anything nice?
Also, a BIG thank you to Victoria from I Heart Fashion for helping me to rearrange my blog.

Rimmel Strawberry Fizz ♥

I absolutely love this nail varnish. I love the colour, I love that it takes a few minutes to dry, and I love that it smells of strawberries! It has to be the perfect nail varnish. I'm really impressed with Rimmel nail varnishes. They are so easy to apply, dry really quickly and last days without chipping. They're also reasonably priced. I just wish they extended the scented nail varnish range. I think they only have three in this range and I have them all. I literally spent today sniffing my nails at my desk...which looked very strange!

Lauren Conrad + her pink hair ♥

Lauren Conrad has always been known for her amazing style, and beautiful golden hair...but at her recent book tour for her new book, The Fame Game, Lauren was seen sporting a edgier look. Hello pink dipped hair and studs, something I would never associate with Lauren Conrad but definitely a look I loved!

I don't think I could pull off a similar look, but then again, I never thought Lauren Conrad would be able to. She always has amazing style, but it's always quite safe- this look just seems to really work on her though. To get Lauren's hair, you can go to her website, http://thebeautydepartment.com/. On her blog, Lauren commented on her new look, saying:
'I figure that I might as well have fun experimenting while I’m still young. And it’s only temporary so it’s really not that big of a commitment... Fashion is about having fun and taking chances. Plus the pink tipped pony added the perfect pop of colour to my otherwise monochromatic look.'
I definitely agree. What do you think of her look? Would you try it?

Late Sunday Gossips #4

EqcrCM on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs
♥ I can't believe how fast the weeks are going! I've been doing so much university work (so near to finishing now!), so I'm just trying to put 110% into everything for the last hurdle! I'm pretty average at uni. I'm borderline 2:2- 2:1, so I have to push that little bit harder now to try and get that 2:1!

♥ As well as doing uni work, I've been hunting for a job...which is going pretty miserably. I always thought that when I came out of uni I'd be able to snap up a job...but that doesn't seem to be happening. I've done a lot of voluntary work to try and shine (it's pretty competitive out there!), but it doesn't seem to be working.

♥ I went to Liverpool on Saturday with my boyfriend, and had a very good time in Primark- I bought too much! I'm really impressed with the quality of Primark clothes at the moment. I bought three, beautiful dresses, and they really do rival Topshop dresses. Definitely a Primark haul coming...

♥ I'm planning a trip to New York (with the money I don't have, ha!), and am getting pretty excited. I've always wanted to go, and feel this may be the year! I don't know whether to save money and book a cheap hotel, or just save and get the whole experience? Thoughts?

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder

Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder has been described as " A sheer, natural finish for the complexion. It unifies the complexion, with a natural sheer matt finish, and disguises imperfections without emphasising lines" I've been using the powder for the last eight months, and have finally emptied the whole pot! The powder is beautiful, and light and makes my face look natural yet finished.
The product retails at £31.50 for 30g, but it is worth every penny. I have used the powder every morning for the last eight months, so I have definitely gotten my moneys worth! The packaging is lovely- simple and sophisticated, but definitely too large to put in the handbag. I think that's the only main downside of the product as I like to take my make up with me throughout the day in case I need any touch ups. The powder stays put for most of the day, a good five hours before I feel I'd like to reapply.
What I really love about the product is the smell. It's gorgeous, and quite indescribable. I literally could smell the the container for hours!  I'll be buying the product again as it is worth every penny...especially its beautiful scent.

Oh, Topshop, you are a treat...

I love Topshop jewellery sales. I very rarely buy Topshop accessories full price, and always hold back until the sales come. I spotted some beautiful Topshop's earrings a while back, and held off, just hoping that they'd go in the sale, and they did!
first earrings, £2.00, second earrings, £3.50.

I'm so glad I waited now. Are you a fan of Topshop jewellery? Do you wait for the sales?

Sunday Gossips ♥ #3

♥ I can't believe how fast the weeks are going! April already! I've been scoffing my face with Easter chocolate and drinking too much tea from my favourite Cath Kidston mug as I read some university books for my next, big assignment! I can't believe this is the last assignment I'll ever write for university. I'm getting quite worried about graduating now. I'm excited to finish but twenty application forms later, I'm still jobless with not one interview waiting...how grim!

♥ I've been pretty unwell this week, coughing and sneezing like crazy! I think there's a terrible bug going around which I seem to have caught. I'm usually pretty good at not getting ill, so I feel like I'm being punished for always having good health, as I feel absolutely rubbish right now!

♥ Last week I went home for the long weekend to see my family and friends. It's always lovely to go home. It's nice to have a warm house and eat good food (I hate being a student sometimes!). My weekend compromised of cocktails, dancing, chocolate, afternoon tea, milkshakes and late birthday presents. A very, very good weekend.

♥ I went to see 21 Jump Street at the cinema with my friends and literally spat my popcorn out...hilarious. I haven't been to see a film that made me laugh that hard in such a long time. Watch the trailer here. In fact, the trailer doesn't do it justice, which is a shame, but it really is a laugh out loud film.

What have you been doing this week? Anything exciting?

I got some new shoes on ...

My shoe addiction is pretty bad. So bad that I have a massive (and I mean massive) box of them! It doesn't stop me buying more though! I'm terrible. I'm quite girlie and usually pick really feminine shoes, but I love how brogues look even though I feel they make me look like a clown. I have size six feet, and I know that doesn't make me some big foot, but I'm quite tall, so I don't like shoes that are too masculine. I'm not even sure if that makes sense, but hopefully you'll understand what I mean! Anyway, I saw these beautiful shoes, and decided to get over my silly worries!
       Next, £22.00.

I think they were an absolute bargain! They are so comfy, and a perfect Spring/Summer shoe. They're a beautiful colour, with a faux suede effect...I don't think I'll be splashing in any puddles in these! Definitely a shoe to wear when the sun is out! I think the inside of the shoe is really pretty too, not that you get to see that when wearing them though. I wear quite a lot of neutral colours, so I feel these will go with everything- definitely worth every penny!

Have you bought anything nice this weekend?

Thank you!

The lovely Rachel from Girl at the Countryside kindly gave me the blogger appreciation award. She has such a lovely blog- a mixture of fashion and make up with a dash of lifestyle. Thank you, Rachel! ♥

The rules of the award:
- Thank the person who gave you the award by linking their blog in your post
- Answer the 4 questions
- Award the blogger appreciation award to new followers/ fellow bloggies as you like

The questions:
  • How long have you been blogging?

I think I started my blog around two years ago, but I never posted and wasn't really that good at it! Around ten months ago I decided to give it another go though, and began posting mostly about beauty products.
  • What are 1-2 reasons why you started blogging?
I love beauty products and am constantly buying and trying new things. So many people would ask me for recommendations etc, so I thought it would be fun to start a blog and review the products I use. I also thought it would be fun and I'd get to meet new people.
  • What are the types of blogs that you visit and read?
I literally love reading everything and anything. Fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogs, travel and food blogs...I'm a nosey girl!
  • What is 1 thing that you as a blogger would like to improve on?
I'd love to do more fashion posts, but I'm on placement at the moment, so my work outfits are very uninspiring!

Who am I awarding?

Home Bird ♥

This weekend, I went out with my favourite girls from home to dance and drink many cocktails. It was also an opportunity to say goodbye to my lovely friends Jo and Faye who are jetting off to volunteer in Africa! Jealous. Although I am about to graduate from university, I always miss being away from home, and just coming back for the weekend makes me realise how much of a home bird I am. I love my home comforts, and I'm actually really looking forward to moving back in with my parents, and being close to my home friends again..even if some of them do jet off hundreds of miles away!

Are you a home bird, or do you enjoy living or hope to move away from home?

Swish, Swish, Silky Smooth...

I was really impressed with last months Glossybox, and with one product in particular- Paul Mitchell awapuhi wild ginger Styling Treatment Oil. To be honest, I have quite silky hair anyway, but sometimes my hair likes to fly away a little, and do it's own thing...and that's where this product comes in handy.
The product retails at £7.50 for 25ml, or £25.95 for 100ml, and I definitely thunk it's worth every penny! Paul Mitchell describes the product as "Natural dry oils tame frizz, Soft, silky texture and Ultra lightweight". The product has been featured in Marie Claire and Good Housekeeping, and is a favourite with Michael White who uses it on the hair of Reese Witherspoon, and Rachel McAdams.
The product is light, and not greasy at all. It easily glides through the hair without making it look greasy or dirty, and tames the hair so it looks healthy and sleek. It takes a small, pea sized amount to make to get the required finish, and my hair is left smelling beautifully! I'm a real fan of this product, and I've found myself reaching for it instead of the hairspray. I think it makes my hair look really natural and silky, and is worth every penny!
What are your favourite hair products?
